Description

LM35 Precision Temperature Sensor IC

The LM35 is a precision analog temperature sensor IC designed to measure temperature directly in degrees Celsius (°C) without requiring external calibration. Unlike thermistors, the LM35 provides a highly linear analog output of 10mV per °C, making temperature measurement simple, accurate, and reliable.

Manufactured using precision wafer-level trimming technology, the LM35 offers excellent accuracy while consuming extremely low power. Its low self-heating characteristics ensure that it does not significantly affect the measured temperature, making it suitable for continuous monitoring applications.

The sensor operates over a wide temperature range of -55°C to +150°C, allowing it to be used in industrial, consumer, automotive, laboratory, and educational applications.

Thanks to its simple three-pin interface (VCC, Output, and GND), the LM35 can be directly connected to microcontrollers such as Arduino, STM32, ESP32, PIC, 8051, and Raspberry Pi (via ADC modules) for real-time temperature monitoring.

Its stable analog output makes it an excellent choice for embedded systems, weather stations, battery monitoring, HVAC systems, industrial automation, smart home projects, and IoT-based temperature sensing.

Whether you are building a student project or an industrial embedded application, the LM35 remains one of the most trusted and widely used temperature sensors due to its simplicity, accuracy, and reliability.
